Sadly, Ruislip Turtles were unable to retain the Hitchin Shield won last year. Our team finished 7th out of 7 competing clubs. Only Shaida (Silver) and Karen (Bronze) managed to win medals. But a lot of unlucky 4th places for our swimmers. Team scores are below:

Turtles Invitation Gala Saturday 15th November 2025
An exciting finish to this year’s event with Hatfield Platypus trailing Runneymede until the final event whereby they won the trophy by just one point. Runnymede were participating in their first Turtles Gala, so it was great to see another new team.
The full details and times are listed below and in total the two Turtles team won 15 medals, including 6 golds. Turtles B finishing 3rd with 54 points and Turtles A 4th with 51 points.
And that concludes the gala season for 2025. Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part in the galas and to the 126 medal that were awarded during the season. We had 30 individual medal winners from 6 competitive events this season.

Special Olympics Gala 2025
Congratulations to our eight swimmers who took part in the Special Olympics on Saturday 8th November, at Westminster Lodge, St. Albans winning 19 medals.
.Every swimmer was awarded at least one medal, with both Josh and Frankie sharing top honours. Winning a gold and two silvers from their three swims.
Josh won gold for 25 metres Butterfly. Frankie won gold for 25 metres Backstroke.

Pimlico Puffins Swimming Club Gala Report 19 October 2025
A tremendous team performance resulted in a Pimlico Gala victory for the third year in a row. We collected 14 medals in total, with half of the medals being golds. Shaida and Jamie won 2 golds each, William, Gary, Karen, one each. A long day, dependent on public transport (no parking available), but a very rewarding one. Well done one and all!
A fantastic team performance resulted in Ruislip Turtles winning the Lions Hitchin Gala by one point from Letchworth Pisces. We took the lead in event 2 and then hung on until the final event whereby five teams could still win the gala. Our Relay team took second place to secure the trophy. All 7 swimmers won medals – Shaida, Hazel and Josh were the gold medal winners.
